I'm in the airport now. Waiting for my flight back to Penang. And yummy yummy, I'm having my dinner at Starbucks. Hehe had to give myself a simple treat after 4 days and 3 nights of posting in Hospital Kuala Kubu Bahru.

I actually kinda dreaded this posting, because the place is like in a rural area, and we were assigned to stay in the nurse hostel. And I've heard stories about how the place is not very clean, and how we had to bathe with ice cold water. Haha I know I know, I sound so pampered right?

But you know what? I LOVED the posting! Although the place was like a bit dirty + I shivered so badly in the shower in the mornings + sweated and melted clerking patients in my labcoat (and also poor Janice fell sick), I really enjoyed myself interacting with the patients. I've realized all these postings I attend inspire me so much and they further fuel my passion working as a doctor in future.

And not to forget making new awesome friends! 9 of us girls were in a room. It was a rather 'exotic' combination of people, because we usually don't hang out as a group in Uni. We had our meals together every day, and talked talked and talked! Hehe loved the late night talks! So this posting really gave all of us a chance to know each other better and I'm truly happy to know them.

Okie I better stop rambling so much. I'm really very tired and I look forward to sleeping in my cosy room tonight. Hehe better get back to eating my muffin and drinking my chocolate frappucino! (no caffeine as I made the mistake of drinking Starbucks coffee at 10pm 2 weeks ago and ended up staying up all night hahaha)

General Practice (GP) Posting

I just came back from the last day of my GP posting. It was a one week posting, and I had to wake up early everyday, drive the 30 minute journey, be in the clinic for 10 hours every day. But every second was worth it. I enjoyed this posting so so much. More importantly, I was so inspired by the doctor I did my attachment with. I learnt so much from her. Following her for one week motivated me in so many ways I cannot describe. And also, I am so thankful for the all the help the friendly staff gave me. They certainly made me feel welcome :) Hehe.

Thanks a million Dr Por. Your teachings will certainly shape me into the future doctor I am going to be.

Mum found my diary. My very first diary when I was 11 years old. Look at it, look at what's left of the 'DIARY' wordings I personally drew, colored and cut out to customize my book. Hahaha. I laughed and cringed at all sorts of ridiculous things I wrote. Really rendered speechless. Even my youngest brother laughed at what I wrote. Hahaha. Too embarrassed to even elaborate on the contents. Anyway wanna continue reading my book now. I'm currently reading The Lost Symbol by Dan Brown. Gives me goosebumps especially when I read at night. Hehe love books!

So, my exam is over! Actually it ended last Friday hahaha. Had been too busy and lazy to blog.

So I met up with Polin for lunch just now. Took lrt and ktm to mid valley. Nearly died in ktm ish. Terrible. Anyway we had Italiannies for lunch. Hehe it was great catching up with her.

Oh and yesterday I joined my friends for a workout. LOL. And my whole body is killing me now. Especially my thighs. Can't even sit properly. Tsk. That shows how unfit I am. So yeah, going to the gym now LOL. Oh and lastly, a picture of me and Pl ;)

We celebrated Janice’s birthday during the weekend. It was a surprise and I guess it was successful! And fun of course!!

We passed around papers for friends to pen down their birthday wishes and we put them in envelopes! So cute right hehehe. Pianotec Concert @ IMU

I had the chance to perform the 1st movement of Bach’s Double Violin Concerto in D-minor with Ming Yao & Sze Min last night. It had been ages since I took out my violin from its dusty case. It was great and certainly fun working with them :)

Watched other small children perform too and they were soooo cute!! Made me recall so many memories. Oh & had the chance to see Carlvan’s piano + vocal performance which was just A-W-E-S-O-M-E. Amazed until speechless hahaha.

With none other than Yu Hsuan & Gohgi who came back all the way from Kelantan. Back to civilization for her hahaha. Went to Starbucks and did a little bit of shopping after that. There were soooo many people in Queensbay today!!

And ohh, we got the shock of our lives when Gohgi's car suddenly stopped and refused to start. And we were at the worst place ever to get stuck. The ramp thingy in the parking lot. Lol lol. Thankfully Gohgi managed to start the car in less than a minute. Phew. Ohhh pictures!! They are all taken by Yuhsuan by the way ;)

Today, a great man who had and will always be an inspiration to so many people left us battling end stage pancreatic cancer. The number of lives he had touched goes on forever and ever. I could still remember meeting him for the first time when I was 8 years old. He was a dedicated teacher and he gave my siblings and I countless opportunities to perform. His passion for music and life and for people… you cannot not respect him, you cannot not love him. RIP teacher, you will always be in our hearts.

IMU’s Next Top Model

IMUNTM was held to raise funds for Japan. After a series of votings & eliminations, the top 5 for male & female category were chosen.

The photoshoot for the contestants a week before the finals.

And oohhhh, I didn’t expect the event to be that grand. Really, the organizing committee put in sooo much effort to make everything work.

This was taken during the afternoon rehearsals & preparations.

And look how IMU’s atrium transformed into this:

So pretty & drama right hahaha.

The event had great sponsors. One of the main sponsors was “The House of Bill Keith”. The others were Key Ng, Rumours, etc.

Soooo the 5 male contestants in casual wear:

Apparently the clothes they’re wearing are all hand-painted silk and cost a bomb

Dance performance during the intermission when the models had to change for the next round.

The theme for the 2nd round for the girls was Kebaya. And this collection of Bill Keith won some kind of award. And they too, cost a BOMB.

Farhan, who was in Akademi Fantasia, was one of the judges for the event. She performed and ooohhh I loved her voice. & she called one of the contestants up stage to dance with her. Haha that’s Joshua btw.

She was soooo tiny! She was already nearly 3 months then but she was so much smaller than the typical Golden Retriever.

Girls’ Night Out

Janice, Elise, Elaine, Shwen Nee & I went to Nambawan Cafe last night for dinner. Hahaha we were sooo excited all the way there and we screamed in the car when we found the place. LOL.

My Short Break

So, I’ve been in Penang for around 4 days. And really, it was so fun hahahaha. I feel recharged now. Btw I’m back in KL already, family came down together as well.

So how did I spend my short break? Hahaha basically, eating + hanging out with friends + catching up on some sleep + reading novels + a bit of studying. I love my friends so so much hahaha.

Went to LWH’s place on Wednesday.

We had karaoke at his place!

The guys were trying to reenact a part of GLEE; we played the killer game; and oh the scattered papers on the floor was because of the guys, they were acting the opening part of ‘Misery’ in GLEE. Lol crazy people.

And the next day, they came over to my place.

Post-Summative Malacca Trip

So I’m back in the comfort of my own home :)

Okay so here’s the promised post on my Malacca Trip with a couple of crazy friends. Had loads of fun! And it would be fun on top of fun if Janice & Diane could join us. Thanks so much JJ for organizing the trip!

Hahaha so anyway, we took the LRT to the bus station.

It was Elise’s birthday last Sunday & we girls made a little something for her. Hahaha it was VERY funny, trust me. Laughed all the way when we were making the scrap book. And we were soooo excited to let her see it :)

So after nearly 2 hours we reached Malacca!

Had lunch at Jonker 88.

Had to queue up in the hot sun first though.

Ooohhhh, YUMMY YUMMY food. Slurps.

And then we walked around Jonker Street and played with bubbles! Instantly we felt like children again hahaha. It was Elise’s idea by the way.

I bet lots of parents who walked by would have hated us because their children would go “Mummy mummy I also want that!!”

And then we went for Durian Cendol.

It rained a while after that. And Elise’s joined her parents after that. So we went back to our hotel to rest + wash up before dinner.

Dinner was at Coconut house opposite our hotel.

YUMMY YUMMY food again!

And pasar malam after that and of course food again hahahaha.

Had breakfast at the hotel the next morning, and then wandered along Jonker Street again.

I loveddddd the onde-onde! And the egg ice cream thingy tasted yummy too!

Oh Shwen Nee left after breakfast to join her family who was also coincidentally in Malacca. So it was just me, Elaine, and the 3 guys.

And we had chicken rice balls and desert at Jonker 88 again before we left for KL.

All in all, I really had a lot of fun! (And a lot of food) And oh, since I’m in Penang now, FOOD again hahaha Yummy Yummy :D

MDCTP stands for Medicine, Dentistry, Chiropractic, Traditional Chinese Medicine & Psychology. Finally, the 2-week orientation with the theme ‘Illume’ had finally ended. Our MEDTCH110 batch was the organizing committee. I thought the orientation was great! (Hahaha love the orientation t-shirts) I attended most of the events & enjoyed everything very very much.

Had awesome Korean food at Daorae in Sri Petaling yesterday! Haha pampering yourself once in a while feels soooooo good!

The service was awesomeee really. Willingly paid the service charge lol lol.

Complimentary side dishes! Which are refillable :D

Succulent pork. OMG I love thisssss. So yummy!!

& Kimchi soup which I absolutely loved! Hahaha felt soooo full after the dinner. Oh & the owner of the restaurant was so good and made a complimentary pancake for us. Haha no pictures of my sister & I because the picture is in another camera. All the above pictures were taken using my HTC.

And….. there’s tons to study for the coming exam! Which is like, SO SOON. Omg help meeeee. Sighs. How am I going to finish studying everythinggggggg. Ah. But nvm, I’ll be optimistic :) :) :) 船到桥头自然直 :)

Busy!

I barely have any time for myself now. There's quite some work piling up already. Zzzz. And today morning, I woke up feeling like a zombie. I was soooo sleepy & my brain was all blank during the 8:30am PBL session. Came back and had a nap. And then went back to Uni for lectures again. And I zoned out during the Larynx & Phonation lecture. Zzzz. So terrible. & I came back and had a nap again before dinner. Tsk tsk. Oh the reason why I barely have anytime left for myself and why I recently feel so tired is because of Nikko. She's a little monster really! She craves attention a lot and she whines. But luckily there's improvement. I can't describe how PISSED I was the first 2 days she came here. And then I showed her who's boss hahaha. So now she listens to me. Not all of the time yet, but most of the time. Phew. She had food aggression when I first brought her home & it's getting better. She has now learnt to sit, lie down, stay, and wait for me to give her the command to have her food. Now the main thing I'm trying to do is to prevent her from stepping on her own poo. Yucks. Have to clean her up in addition to cleaning up her poo / pee on the potty pad. Oh, & I certainly can understand that taking care of a pet / child isn't an easy task at all. PATIENCE. I know everything will be better soon. (I hope)

2nd year of Uni starts tomorrow! Reached KL only a couple of hours before.

This picture was taken this morning when I finished packing my luggage. Snowball doesn’t want me to leave! Hahaha. (Nah actually I just plopped her on my luggage and took this photo tsk)

Anyway, I swept & mopped the whole place, unpacked my luggage, changed my bedsheets, and had dinner while watching TV. Kinda tired but I have to prepare the coming week’s notes & everything ZZZ. I can foresee endless amount of work to be done.

Sorry for the hiatus! But I really have nothing / no inspiration to blog. Basically, I read novels + sleep + go online every day. Boohoo most of my friends are still not yet in Penang!

So, I was browsing through all my photos and I found funny pictures of Snowball!! Haha I miss her soooo much! Going down to KL next Tuesday so YIPEE!

This was when she pooped at THE WRONG PLACE aka MY ROOM. Hahaha Jx was giving her a lesson. She saw the ruler in Jx’s hand & turned away & gave us thisssss expression. Lol look at her droopy ears.

On 15th of Nov, 7 of us (Elise, Elaine, Diane, Shwen Nee, Lorenzo, Kah Chong & I) flew to KK for our post-exam holidays! Elaine, who is from Sabah planned so much for us & her family was so nice to accommodate us & we were so lucky to be able to stay in their condo.

There are tonssss of pictures, that’s why I had to create picture collages so as to prevent your finger from getting spasms from needing to scrolling down continually :)

So, early in the morning we headed off to LCCT where we had our breakfast in McD.

And took vain shots while waiting for our turn to board the plane! *shy*

After 2.5 hours in the air, we finally arrived in KK! Our first meal in KK was Tuaran Mee + Ice Lemon Tea. We were starving at that time & ate 4 big plates of Mee. Yummyy!

And our itinerary for the 1st day was to see Proboscis Monkey + Fireflies at Klias River. Took us around 2 hours to reach the place by van. The thing about Sabah is that all its tourist spots are scattered around so to go from one place to another, you have to spend time travelling on the road.

Went water rafting on the 2nd day & boy.. It was fun & scary at the same time! Words cannot describe how scared I was hahaha. Anyway, we had dinner with Elaine’s family that night. Thank you Elaine & your family for being so awesome!

This was after dinner, & we were already planning what to order for next day’s seafood dinner!

3rd day was our trip to Kundasang!

And this, is Mount Kinabalu.

Erm this was somewhere near Poring Hot Spring. Cant remember the exact name for this place hahah. I remember I was sweating & panting like crazy because we had to walk / climb a bit. I really, should start exercising!

After that we had lunch, Tuaran Mee again. And then we stopped by the roadside to buy yummy chicken wings, tried local fruits, had the nicest coconut pudding ever (!!!), & had seafood for dinner.

AND ONE OF THE GREATEST PART OF THE TRIP WAS GIRL TALK THAT NIGHT!!

Off we went to Manukan Island & Sapi Island the next day!

The Islands were beautiful!! (and HOT )

AND THEN WE HAD YUMMY ITALIAN DINNER. I loved it!!! And then we walked around the city & watched a lousy movie. (in which I actually dozed off)

Oh, & as for the last picture with chicken wings, we had it for dinner that night. Plus Maggi Mee! Hahaha & we left KK the next morning. :)

Back in Penang

I’ve just recovered from one of the most terrible fever I’ve ever had, which explains for the lack of posts even though I’ve returned from my Sabah trip with my friends.

First of all, I enjoyed the trip, will blog about it very very soon I promise :) Second thing, I’m happy with my results. Time really flies, 2nd year of Med will be starting in 6 weeks’ time! Third thing, I can finally indulge in all the books my sisters & I bought during the Popular Book Fest in KLCC months ago!

Oh, before that, my uncle & his family came down to KL the day before yesterday & brought us out for dinner. Went to somewhere near erm Jalan 222 or something. Our main aim was to have their famous duck but tooooo bad, they were sold out so we had yummy seafood instead!

And… I’m going to Sabah with a bunch of friends tomorrow! :D Will be back on the 19th. Which is also the day when our EOS results will be released. Which is also the day when my whole family will be coming down to KL. :D

Had a great day with my younger sister Qi today! Went to Mid Valley and had lunch at Dragon-I with elder sister & jiexun. They then left and Qi & I went shopping. Watched “The Other Guys” and I thought the movie was kinda terrible. Both of us dozed off in the cinema HAHA. Maybe we were too tired from all that walking. We walked super a lot because me, being terrible in directions kept bringing her to the other wrong end of the mall. LOL.

Oh & then we went back by taxi after having our dinner. Thank god the taxi driver was a good one and didn’t cheat our money! (The last time I took a taxi from MidValley with LWH we were cheated ISH)

I love my sisters to death :) Oh & my brothers too. They will be coming down to KL next week so I’ll definitely post a picture of 6 of us then :D

This is a post about random stuff that happened over the week. I’m so very free now :D And my biological clock is still waking me up at around 8am in the morning!

Anyway, had lunch at Jojo’s Pan Mee last weekend. Yum Yum.

& had dinner in Kim Gary, Sunway the night before the big exams. Oh I’m so hungry now and all the food are tempting me! & I. REALLY. SHOULD. STOP. EATING. THAT. MUCH.

Oh & my sister bought this because she wanted to get THE FREE GIFT which is the egg boiler thingy. Lol I don’t even know what’s the proper term for it.

Had PIZZA (with extra pineapples) for supper last night. What did I just say about having to stop eating that much…… Ish. Anyway we bought the frozen ones and baked it in the oven. Hot & fresh from the oven YUM YUM :D

Went out with Dajie & Jx to Pavilion KL for Snowflakes + Movie. Hahaha we don’t like to go to Subang's Snowflakes because you spend like forever finding a parking space and you queue for god knows how long and wait for eons for a seat in Snowflakes. Ish.

Anyway we watched Dinner for Schmucks. Steve Carell is awesome! Hahaha we loved the movie :) Argh studying Biochem. Sooooo boringgggg yawn yawn yawn. But woohoo I can do it hahaha bye!! Going out to Sunway for dinner + grocery shopping later :)

Summative 2 down! Yay, another major exam to go in 2 more weeks :D

So, my birthday was on the 12th of Oct, Iggy’s was one day after & Elaine’s birthday is this coming Sat. Our friends celebrated Iggy’s & my birthday last week. Went to Pizza Hut after lectures. As for Elaine’s we celebrated it yesterday in Mid Valley after Summatives.

2 things that happened to me

Yesterday,

When I was doing grocery shopping:

My sister & I planned to cook lotus root soup with red dates & peanuts some day in the coming week & as the name of the dish suggests, we would need peanuts right? My sister was getting some other vegetables so she asked me to get the peanuts by myself. And to buy the peanuts, you need to scoop whatever amount you want and weigh it to get the price. Yeah, that kind. ANDDDD. I freaking told the promoter that I wanted 1kg of peanuts when 100g was what I wanted. WTH. 1kg. No wonder he looked at me with big wide eyes. & I was thinking, whyyyyy cannot buy peanuts ah? So he double confirmed with me: 1kg?? & I SAID YES. That was when my sister appeared and said WHAT 1kg???? Hahahaha omg. He couldn't stop laughing & teasing me. ISHHH. How embarassing.

When I was leaving the mall:

So I was happily pushing the shopping trolley, and we were going towards the escalators (those flat ones) to Gardens basement carpark. ANDDDDDD. At the end of the escalator, THE TROLLEY GOT STUCK. I couldn't push the trolley down & I looked like a lunatic running on the same spot so that I wouldn't bump into the stupid trolley which was still stuck. But I still kept bumping into the trolley. ZZZ. & Jx & my sister saved the day! & I went home with muscle spasms in my foot.

IMU Cup Cheerleading 2010

Yawn, I’m taking a break from all that studying hahaha. Summative2 is this coming Thursday. So last week, Dajie & I went back to IMU in the evening to watch the Cheerleading competition. JX was in the Taurus team, & coincidentally, Dajie & I are both Taurus-ians. Hahaha.

& Taurus won Overall Champion this year! (Of course I contributed… if you count cheering for the team as a contribution HAH)

Ahhh the thrill of cooking! Had been cooking with Dajie these few weeks since we stopped our catering service. I LOVE COOKING really :) Not good in it though! But with determination & perseverance….. :p

Spaghetti with button mushrooms & sliced cheese frankfurters.

Cabbage fish ball soup with carrots & chicken. Loved this because it tasted exactly like popo’s version.

Yum Yum :D

Pre-marinated chicken thighs bought from Jusco. I just put some olive oil over the aluminium foil to prevent the chicken from sticking to the base, preheated the oven, put everything inside & baked the chicken thighs for 20 mins. AND BURNT MY POOR FINGER WHEN I TOOK THEM OUT BEFORE SERVING THEM. Ish.

Oh yeah, the soup is supposed to be red in colour. I don’t know what this is called but Popo had been cooking this for us since like forever and I’ve always loved it!

And I made steamed egg custard!! Had been reading “Ho Chiak! Delicious Asian Food” & getting ideas from the recipes. My few previous experience with steamed egg custard was terrible because I could never achieve the smooth texture that SHOULD BE THERE. Mine was like the texture of huat kuih. Points below.

& once I added too much water, the other time I added too little water. & since then I never made this dish again. But after following the instructions from the blog, HAHAHAHAHAHA super silky smooth steamed egg :D :D :D :D

Gohgi was in KL last Saturday! She was here for her brother’s convocation at IMU. So, I received a phone call from Yu Hsuan in the afternoon, telling me that they would like to come over. YAY :D Haven’t seen Gohgi since forever!

& after a while, Gohgi’s dad called. He wanted to bring us to “have some cakes” lol lol lol I don’t know why I find that phrase so funny and amusing. But we ended up having Tony Romas in Sunway Pyramid. And since Duckie studies in Sunway College & stays nearby, Gohgi called her to come over. “Sia-ed” her with yummy food hahahaha.

La Gomera

Had Spanish Buffet at La Gomera last Friday with 3 generations of Group 3 members. La Gomera is a fairly new place situated in Neo Damansara. Considering that I’m terrible in directions, do forgive me for only providing such scant information. That’s all I know :)

One of the reasons the place was chosen was because there was (not sure whether there still is or not) a 50% promotion going on, so it was RM29.95++ per person.

FOOD

The interior of the place is so-so. And I thought it was kinda hot inside. I think only the fans were switched on. Couldn’t feel the air-conditioning. Were there even any?

Elise, Ignatius, Shwennee & I were the earliest to arrive so we spent our time taking photos.. & eating first as well. Hahaha we were so starved we needed food right away.

But overall, I just thought the food was so-so. Quite okay for RM30, but if it was RM60 without discount I wouldn’t think I would come. I don’t think it’s worth RM60.

Sooo… Elise told us about the RM3.60 per dish tea time offer in Starhill Bukit Bintang. Plans were made. & last Tuesday after lectures, we headed off to Bukit Bintang. Dental people couldn’t join us cause they still had class. And Lolo had something on. Would’ve been more fun if everyone could be there :)

So happy :D Had been a while since we went out. Hahahaha took pictures while waiting for Elaine & others who went back to change. Iggy was the photographer of the day as usual.

Took the LRT, and then the Monorail, and then walked (WORST PART due to the weather) to Starhill.

Had Clinical Skills this morning, learned the proper technique of hand washing, gowning, and gloving & also giving Intramuscular Injection. Then had lectures and PBL. As for tomorrow, lectures + CPR Exam. ZZZZZ CPR. & then lectures + medical museum session + chinese singing competition (Just watching LOL) on Wed. & then lab + lectures + PBL on Thurs. & lectures + spanish buffet (LOL) on Fri. Eiyeerrr & I haven’t done my AIR Topic + Revision + Reading.

Leaving Yet Again

Tomorrow, I'll be leaving to KL before my 2nd semester starts on this coming Monday. Gosh, how time flies. It had been already one month since I've had my holidays. :O Anyway, I'm kinda happy that classes will be starting very soon. Makes me feel less lazy. But this semester's time table is a lot more packed than the 1st semester. Loads of lab sessions and clinical skills sessions.

Going out for dinner later! YAYZ. Don't have to worry about luggage weight this time cause parents will be driving me down! Oh and one more thing is that I look forward to sleeping on my huge bed in KL! Hahaha. BYEZ have to continue packing my stuff!

TARC Prom Night

Ejiat won the Talent Competition in TAR College last year. And this year, he was invited to be one of the guest performers. He asked me to perform alongside with him & I agreed hahaha. The performance was last night. Ejiat came and fetch me all the way to TARC. Wth so far, the other end of the world.

It had been a long time since the last time I went out with Bea! Haha she came & fetch me & off we went to Gurney. Had Sakae Sushi for lunch. & we talked and talked and talked. Lol & we watched The Back-Up Plan. The movie was okay. Some funny parts but the plot was kinda predictable.

And then had BeeHoonTh’ng as dinner at Perak Lane with my family.

Had to wait for some time. Zzz so many people. So… we took pictures! :D With Qi & Wei.

HAHAHA now Tian’s hairstyle is exactly the same as mine! Same fringe!

Happy Birthday Mum!

6th of July is Mummy’s birthday! And from 6th of July onwards, there will be a birthday marathon in my family. Dad’s birthday is less than 2 weeks later, Jx’s & Wei’s birthdays will be in Aug, Zhuo’s in Sept, mine in Oct, and Tian’s and Qi’s in Nov! (Chen’s birthday is a bit far away in April)

Drove to Qbay in the evening to choose card + cake for mummy. Haha that’s Zhuo writing on the envelope.

Isn’t the card pretty? Hahaha it spells MUM, should’ve taken the picture from a better angle. Tian’s still in KL so she wrote a short message on paper, took a picture of it with her phone, mms-ed me, & Qi & I printed the picture out and sticked it on the card.

I've not been blogging because I don't have anything to blog about! Haha, and OMG I think I have some sleeping disease, my wake-up time is getting later and later. Broke the record today by waking up at 1:30pm :O

Anyway I'm here because I suddenly remembered some joke my friends and I shared when we were in Mid Valley after our Summatives. After dinner & walking around a bit, all of us wanted to go to the rest room. And after all of us girls were done, we walked out but we didn't see the boys, and us being girls, we went window shopping.

And after walking for a while, we saw the boys waiting for us. They were sitting on the bench and each of them had a sly smile on their face. And then right, they were like arguing among each other and finally Kah Chong asked us:

"Why you girls take so long? 4cm only also take so long?"

HAHAHA SUPER FUNNY CAUSE we learnt that male's urethra is like 20cm long and female's urethra is 4cm only HAHA.
